- ➤ Microsoft is building its Fairwater Data Center in Mount Pleasant with a $7.7B investment expected to create 800 to 900 permanent jobs and expand workforce training through local partnerships. The phase one project will start in 2026 and support local energy and water plans. Racine County Eye

- ➤ A new report shows data center developments raise power and water demand in our region after decades of declines; construction continues on a $3.3 billion facility in Mount Pleasant supplied by Racine Water Works, with its first phase set for 2026 (local regulators review new rules for projects). EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Kadia Burns of J.I. Case High School introduced her children’s book 'Girls Can Do It Too!' on Tuesday, Jan. 13 from her welding classroom to inspire girls to explore trades, drawing on memories of her late machinist mother (whose strength inspired her). Racine County Eye
- ➤ Students at J.I. Case High School tested physics concepts in a cardboard boat race at the Aquatic Center on Tuesday, Jan. 13. Many boats became waterlogged as they struggled to stay afloat using buoyancy and density principles. Racine County Eye

- ➤ The Plan Commission approved new plans for an IEA facility (including a truck dealership and manufacturing building) to support local business expansion. The Journal Times
