- ➤ The Raymond School District is forming a 10 to 15-member facilities task force (applications available later this month) to review a feasibility study on aging school infrastructure and advise on necessary upgrades. The group will meet in late summer or early fall as the district prepares for a potential referendum in April. Racine County Eye
- ➤ Downtown Racine Corporation is hosting a Chili Ice Walk on Feb. 20 with chili-sampling and ice sculpting along Main and 6th, following an Olaf scavenger hunt on Feb. 15. The agency also honored local growth at its State of the Downtown Awards on Jan. 26 at The Red Onion. CBS58
ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ Fire crews responded at 5:59 a.m. Tuesday to a house blaze on Buchanan Street that injured one person, killed two cats, and displaced 10 residents on Racine's north side, and they had the flames under control within 30 minutes. Racine County Eye

- ➤ The Racine Art Museum will host the annual RAM PEEPS® Brand Art Exhibition in its expanded downtown gallery on March 13 and 14. Artists of all backgrounds can submit free entries by dropping them off at RAM from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and compete for a Golden PEEPS® Bunny award. CBS58
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ RUSD will vote on a revised 2026-27 school calendar that cuts early release days from 30 to 25, following feedback from parents and teachers. The extra hour on those days will be used for professional learning communities and academic support, officials said. Racine County Eye
