  • Jamie Freeland of Racine County Eye now volunteers for the Senior Companion Program that connects locals with seniors for one hour a week. She treasures the bond she formed with a senior companion called Alice and invites others to consider joining.  Racine County Eye

  • Luna’s Groceries opens on South Park Street with a mix of Latino and American food in the Village at Park. The new 6,000 sqft store is three times larger than its Southwest Side location.  The Journal Times
  • Naly’s Floral Shop in Racine experienced a surge of Valentine’s Day orders; owner Naly Jasengnou expressed gratitude despite a busy season and showcased her shop (Thursday, Feb. 12) ahead of the holiday.  The Journal Times

SPORTS NEWS

  • The WIAA midseason report ranks Racine County’s 10 boys basketball teams for upcoming playoff matchups in February. Waterford claims the No. 1 seed in Division 2, Racine Lutheran tops Division 3, and St. Catherine’s is poised as the No. 2 seed, setting the stage for competitive postseason games.  Racine County Eye
  • St. Catherine’s girls basketball team swept Prairie 65-56 at John McGuire Fieldhouse on Friday, with Laila Collier-White scoring 20 and Jayda King adding 19 points (12 rebounds) to secure the season sweep for the first time since 2020-2021.
