- ➤ Undocumented workers played a key role in Wisconsin's economy, with an estimated 73,900 living in the state as of 2022 and contributing $240 million in taxes—about $8 million of which is imagined to be from Racine County. - ➤ Racine Unified School Board member Mike Bellagio was re-elected for a three-year term on April 1st after voters chose him with 3,421 votes versus challenger Christian DeJong’s 2,555 votes—unofficial results released by County Clerk Wendy Christensen confirmed his win. Racine County Eye

- ➤ Voter turnout in eastern Racine County was steady on Election Day, with 25% of voters choosing absentee ballots yesterday. At Caledonia Village Hall, 4,252 absentee ballots were returned and 837 ballots were processed by 11 a.m. — a minor jam was quickly resolved — as officials reported consistent voter traffic. - ➤ Results from the Racine Common Council election show that one incumbent and three challengers won contested races on April 1 with vote totals from 285 to 1085—candidates in other districts ran unopposed. - ➤ Jamie McClendon wins by 55 votes on April 1 and will take the bench in Branch 7 of the Racine County Circuit Court - unseating incumbent Jon Fredrickson who served for four years. McClendon said her victory shows that voters want safer streets and impartial judges. Racine County Eye
- ➤ On March 29, Racine native Congresswoman Gwen Moore spoke at a Rally for Democracy held at Monument Square ahead of the April 1 election with about 150 people in attendance as Assembly Minority Leader Greta Neubauer and State Rep.
