- ➤ RYDE Racine provided over 1,053,361 rides in 2024—a 49% increase since 2021—which helped residents get to work, school, and healthcare. Transit director Trevor Jung said local employers supported adding closer bus stops and a feasibility study for a rail link connecting Racine to Kenosha and Milwaukee will complete in 2025. - ➤ Racine residents voted Tuesday to raise their annual property tax levy by $1.5 million to help fund the fire department — both RFD and the firefighters union reacted to the decision, noting that the additional funding will support better emergency services. The Journal Times
