Good morning, Racine.

Visit Racine County announced a lineup of events in Racine including the grand opening of Randy’s Thrill Hill at Bear Paw Adventure Park on April 26th—a 250-foot slide honoring Randy Isaacson—and the 16th Street Studios Spring Open House from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on the same day. Other local events include an open house at the 1888 Bohemian Schoolhouse, the RAM PEEPS Brand Art Exhibition, and a winemaker dinner with Elena Revello at Buzzed Wine Bar on May 1st.

Downtown Racine Corporation will launch First Fridays 2025 with Creative Crawl on May 2 featuring interactive art stations and live shows.

The group will also host a Wine Walk on May 3 and 10 with tastings at 30 stops and Feast on the Streets on May 23 offering samples from 10 local restaurants — events designed to celebrate community art and cuisine — with convenient parking available at several ramps.

BeLEAF lost 2/3 of its Federal VOCA funding, which was one-third of its budget, and has turned full-time staff into part-time roles while leaving a therapist position unfilled (another agency in the Fox Valley left six positions empty).

State and federal leaders are being urged to add funds and support a bill to keep crime victims services properly staffed.
