EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Racine Unified School District officials project that all students will have free breakfast and lunch for the next four school years, pending state approval. The district will submit its CEP plan by May 1 (approval is expected later this month) to secure the needed reimbursement adjustments. Racine County Eye
- ➤ Green Bay Packers players visited Park High School on Wednesday to speak to students about self-confidence and hard work. They stressed that determination and practice help build success on and off the field. The Journal Times
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Strong winds on Wednesday, April 15 damaged homes and downed trees in Waterford as crews clear debris and secure properties while residents brace for more storms. Cleanup remains ongoing as neighbors assess the damage. FOX6
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Rep. Angelina Cruz and board member Scott Coey had a verbal altercation at the No Kings event on March 28. Cruz obtained a temporary restraining order on April 2, but the judge dismissed it on April 13 for lack of evidence (both continue re-election campaigns). Racine County Eye
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ At the state indoor championships on April 4, Racine Case freshman Nicholas Payne Jr. broke his school's 60-meter dash record with a 7.01-second run while teammates from Racine Case, Horlick, and Lutheran posted strong results in multiple events. Racine County Eye
