GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The Mount Pleasant Village Board met on April 28 to review plans to discontinue Prairie View Drive and to hold public hearings on zoning changes at 5901 and 5723 Durand Avenue for new development, while also considering an agricultural lease, transit committee reappointments, and a tobacco and vaping license request from a Racine Street business—matters discussed at Village Hall after 6 p.m. The meeting aimed to address long-term planning and local infrastructure updates.  Racine County Eye

SPORTS NEWS

  • Prairie School’s girls basketball team swept Racine County awards this season as Jasonya Glass-Barnes was named Player of the Year and coach Abby Jaramillo was honored as Coach of the Year—reflecting their dominant play that led the team to the state tournament. The awards come after a season of record-setting achievements and improved performance—promising continued success in future contests.  Racine County Eye
