- ➤ On Saturday, Apr. 25, Ascension Wisconsin hosted its Blanket of Love baby shower at the Ascension All Saints Hospital Health Pavilion to provide 100-plus new and expectant moms (and families) with baby items and vital resources. - ➤ Firefighters rescued a young boy who became stuck in a claw machine at a local ice cream shop today + they freed him safely after he got trapped while playing. The Journal Times
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Mount Pleasant has commissioned Danish artist Thomas Dambo to build a 20-foot troll sculpture from recycled wood, expected in the second half of 2027. Dambo will tour possible sites later this year and community members may donate materials and volunteer to boost local tourism + celebrate the region's art. Racine County Eye
- ➤ The village of Mount Pleasant announced Danish artist Thomas Dambo will create a new wooden troll sculpture — planned for late 2027. The project, funded by a longstanding hotel room tax, will rely on recycled wood donations and volunteer help to boost local tourism. FOX6
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Dr. David Galbis-Reig at Ascension All Saints Hospital in Racine said young adults are drinking less today, with rates falling from 59% in 2023 to 50%. Alcohol Awareness Month and an increase in mocktail options and online socializing have helped shift local habits (boosting long-term health awareness). Racine County Eye
