  • A 42-year-old Racine man was charged on April 22 in connection with an armed home invasion.  The Journal Times

EDUCATION NEWS

  • The Raymond School Board on Tuesday approved staff cuts — eliminating positions for the dean of students, a first grade teacher, a middle school social studies instructor, a special education teacher, a special education aide and a part-time interventionist — due to a failed school referendum. Superintendent Michael Leach said the cuts will hurt students and the district will hold public sessions to discuss its future plans.  The Journal Times

  • Racine County officials and local health providers warn that proposed federal changes to Medicaid could cut up to $93 million in funding and risk essential services for 35,000 residents who rely on the program—critics say the cuts may reduce support for addiction recovery, mental health, and emergency care as Congress plans further budget measures later this year.  Racine County Eye
