CRIME NEWS

  • A Racine police officer shot and killed an armed man near 17th and Franklin on May 4 after the suspect crashed his vehicle while trying to flee an arrest for a violent domestic incident (investigators from DCI and state patrol are reviewing the case) (the officer is on administrative leave).  FOX6
  • The documentary CYCLE, which premiered May 4 at the Oriental Theater in Milwaukee, shows new evidence that does not match the official story of the 2019 shooting of Ty’Rese West in Mount Pleasant—details in the officer’s deposition and a long delay in informing West’s family are now fueling community calls for accountability.  Racine County Eye

  • Case High School senior Kaeden Saunders was accepted to the Air Force Academy and will attend college in Colorado Springs — he earned his pilot license on his second try and leads in the Civilian Air Patrol — showing his strong work ethic as he trains to become an Air Force pilot.  The Journal Times
