- ➤ A retired City of Racine fire truck was loaded onto a US Air Force C-17 cargo plane on Thursday, May 8 with nearly 30,000 pounds of supplies bound for Punta Gorda, Belize. Racine Rotary, the Fire Department and city officials coordinated the effort using custom-built ramps by Larry Vail—local work that will help deliver critical aid. Racine County Eye

- ➤ Racine Unified School District is hosting a summer basketball and life skills camp for sixth to eighth graders from June 24 to July 31 at Starbuck IB and Jerstad-Agerholm and a 'Contraction Surgery' literacy lesson on May 21 at Gifford School from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. The district also holds a May 14 healthcare apprenticeship hiring event at Roma Lodge and a $10 youth volleyball academy for K–5 students while celebrating soccer standout Mayah Skenandore’s impressive scoring and alumnus Estevan Longoria’s rise in fashion—each program showing RUSD’s focus on hands-on learning.
