  • Visit Racine County said the Franksville Craft Beer Garden season will begin on May 16 with a weekend of live music, food trucks and local craft beers. The event takes place at Franksville Memorial Park and will have Friday events from 5 to 9 p.m., Saturday events from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Sunday events from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.  CBS58
  • Veteran-owned restaurant The Bunker in Racine County displays military artifacts such as a tank, helicopter, and two jets—making it a fun haven for veterans. The venue has long served as a unique meeting space for those who served.  CBS58

ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • A detached garage in Kansasville caught fire on May 10 when a lawn mower ignited inside, and fire crews from 12 departments used 25,000 gallons of water and five gallons of foam—leaving the structure and its contents a total loss—despite a rapid response.  FOX6

  • Alejandro Sierra—one of Wisconsin's Most Wanted—was sentenced to 50 years in prison after being found guilty of fatally shooting his girlfriend in Racine on May 9.  FOX6

  • Racine Zoo announced a slate of upcoming events including Bloody Mary Fest on May 17 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. along the lakefront—where visitors can sample local drinks and vote on their favorites—and a charity golf outing on June 23 at Meadowbrook Country Club to support animal care, with additional wine tastings and a music tribute planned later this season.  CBS58
  • The Racine Art Museum will launch Gallery Game Night — a free after-hour event on May 29 for adults 21+ where locals can play games, sip a cocktail or mocktail, and explore art inspired by the Fool Me Once exhibit.   • Five Gilmore Fine Arts K-8 School music groups won gold last month at the Worldstrides Heritage Festival in New Orleans.
