EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Graduation season is starting soon for Racine County high schools as officials release dates and times for ceremonies (final details will be shared with families). The Journal Times
- ➤ A bipartisan deal will boost K-12 funds by $600M, raise special education reimbursement to 50%, provide $350M in tax relief and end state income taxes on tips and overtime. The Joint Finance Committee reviews the proposal today with full votes expected tomorrow and Gov. Evers set to sign next week. Racine County Eye
- ➤ Three Racine Unified School District teachers were recently named educators of the year by the Wisconsin Association for Bilingual Education + the honor recognizes their contributions to multilingual instruction and reflects the district's ongoing commitment to language diversity. - ➤ Horlick High School’s teacher Tom Pfeiffer launched a hands-on chicken program — where students feed hens and chicks for culinary and science classes. The school will install a fence around the greenhouse area next month to boost sustainability efforts. Racine County Eye

- ➤ The Racine Zoo announced Monday that Timu, a beloved eastern black rhino, will soon move to a breeding facility known for successful pairing — the relocation aims to boost conservation efforts. FOX6
