EDUCATION NEWS

  • Raymond School’s third graders turned their cafeteria into a living wax museum last week—each student dressed as a famous historical figure and delivered a short speech about the person as part of a history project led by teachers Ms. Zoe Koop and Mrs. Katie Feuling.  Racine County Eye

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Demolition crews knocked down the exterior wall of the former Racine YMCA at 725 Lake Avenue on May 12, with Mayor Cory Mason using an excavator to start the work. The city, which bought the property in 2024, has not yet announced plans for new development—interior salvage work had already begun.  Racine County Eye
  • Senate Bill 125 directs the Public Service Commission to study nuclear power siting opportunities to potentially add new nuclear energy options beyond Point Beach—the state’s only operating nuclear plant. Gov. Tony Evers has proposed a $1 million feasibility study in the state budget and the Senate Committee on Utilities and Tourism approved the bill on May 6.  Racine County Eye

  • Aurora Health Care is expanding its virtual health programs to offer online primary care consultations and 24/7 Quick Care access—ensuring patients get timely, coordinated care with follow-up in-person services when needed.
