- ➤ On June 18, a Racine woman named Melisa Bodoh was charged with attempted first-degree intentional homicide after she allegedly shot a man in the neck during a domestic dispute at a residence on Carlisle Avenue near Kewaunee Street—while in custody she told police 'am I going to jail for life' and 'he knew I had a gun'—and she is set to appear in court on June 26 with a cash bond of $50,000. - ➤ The Racine Arts Council announced its record-high 2025 ArtSeed grants, awarding local artists in 13 projects—such as $2,000 for the Black Arts Council’s ‘Poetry in the Park’ events running July to September—and funding initiatives at Burlington Public Library, Racine Symphony Orchestra, and others.
