- ➤ Racine’s former alderman and Racine Raiders player Ron Hart died in Wisconsin Dells on June 25 at age 81 while golfing with his family—he suffered a sudden cardiac arrest. His funeral is scheduled for Saturday, July 12 at 6 p.m. at the Draeger-Langendorf Funeral Home on County Line Road in Mount Pleasant. The Journal Times

- ➤ Racine County authorities sentenced 32 year old Lamar Hackett to five years in prison and six years of extended supervision after a traffic stop escalated into a high-speed pursuit—drone footage tracked him through a field and swamp as he hid in a tent before his arrest. FOX6
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ The Raymond School District expects to enroll more than 40 nonresident students this fall and could welcome up to 45 new students if pending transfers from nearby districts are approved by the July deadline (only 10 students have been formally released so far).
