- ➤ Salmon-A-Rama returns for its 51st year today at Festival Park with live music, fireworks and food provided by Salmon Unlimited and offers nine days of fishing tournaments plus 10 days of family-friendly activities. The fishing tournament starts July 12 and features a ($50,000 grand prize) with winners set to be announced July 20. The Journal Times
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Racine Unified School District officials said they will not be able to fund free meals for every student in the 2026-27 school year—while all students receive free breakfast and lunch this year, some schools may have to switch to a paid program next year as funds shift due to a new federal bill. - ➤ Racine Unified School Board will vote on July 21 on four solar panel projects that are expected to save the district $11.7 million over 25 years. The projects will be implemented at several schools with McKinstry overseeing design and maintenance — funding will come from federal incentives and rebates. Racine County Eye
