EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Racine Unified has moved forward with its after-school programs using $817,000 in Title IV funds from a recent federal thaw—officials said the district still faces a gap of over $1 million for staff development and English Learner services and may need to shift costs if these funds remain frozen. The district is planning ahead for the upcoming school year while waiting on the remaining federal dollars. Racine County Eye
- ➤ At a July board meeting, Racine Unified School District approved free breakfast and lunch for the 2025-26 school year but warned that federal funds may not cover meals in 2026-27 - forcing a possible return to charging families.
