Good morning, Racine.

Cari Greving from Visit Racine County said Mount Pleasant Sounds at Sunset will return with four new bands and a rotating fleet of food trucks for Tuesday evenings of music and food; Tuesday, July 29th, Betsy Ade & the Well-Known Strangers will perform at 6:30 p.m. at Campus Park at 8500 Campus Drive in Mount Pleasant. The free event offers on-site parking and open playgrounds and a splash pad — features that give families more ways to enjoy the evening.

On July 24, a Racine County family said their fair outing turned scary when their daughters screamed and bumped their heads on the Pharaoh’s Fury ride due to a loose lap bar — even though fair officials and Alpine Amusement Company confirmed the ride passed all safety inspections, they left and warned others about potential hazards.

Alfredo Gonzalez, a Park High School graduate, excelled as a youth apprentice at Lemberg Electric while working on the new Red Apple K-8 STEAM School project during the 2024-25 Ramac program.

The apprenticeship—one of a record 240 students—shows how the program, developed with Racine Unified School District, is growing to offer paid, hands-on learning experiences.
