- ➤ A car crashed into Olympia Brown Elementary School in Racine early Tuesday, July 29 around 2:20 a.m.—the vehicle went completely into the building, damaging a classroom and leading to one detention while no one was taken to a hospital. FOX6

- ➤ Twelve new officers were sworn in by the Racine Police Department Friday—new recruiting incentives helped the department recover from a 2022 staffing low. The Journal Times
- ➤ Wisconsin Books to Prisoners and the Department of Corrections will launch a pilot project—designed to screen used books before they are sent to prisoners—with the second phase starting at Redgranite Correctional Institution in six to eight weeks.
