- ➤ On August 2, 2025, about 200 people gathered at Highways 31 and 20 in Racine for a protest called 'Dare to Fight Fascism' as part of the national 'Rage Against Regime' movement — military veteran Tom Fugate spoke and donations were collected for Veterans Outreach of Wisconsin — showing local voices in a national effort. ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ On August 2nd, a travel trailer caught fire near Beck Highway 36 and Beck Drive in Racine County—firefighters from the Rochester Volunteer Fire Department arrived after 9:30 a.m. and put out the blaze by 10 a.m. with no injuries reported. FOX6
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Rep. Bryan Steil supported the 'Big, Beautiful Bill' at a July 31 session in Elkhorn, and a local fact-check found that key claims on border security funding, Medicaid reforms and tax relief are misleading or false. The check found that while some funding numbers are largely accurate, his claims on hiring 3,000 agents and Medicaid changes exaggerate the bill’s impact + may be hard to achieve. Racine County Eye
