🏛️ Government
US Rep. Bryan Steil answered questions at a phone town hall on August 7 about Medicaid work requirements, tariffs, and the crisis in Gaza.
He said new Medicaid rules will be set soon—emphasizing that tariffs were imposed under an emergency and that the U.S. supports Israel while working to get aid to children in Gaza.
State Sen. Jesse James and other lawmakers proposed a bill in June that would grant immunity to 911 dispatchers when transferring calls to the suicide hotline & protect them from civil liability if they act in good faith.
The measure comes amid ongoing staffing shortages in 911 centers and awaits further debate after summer break.
