CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Racine County Eye will launch its Made in Racine series with the live podcast Haunted Racine on Oct. 24 from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at its new location on 1926 Albert Street in Belle City Square—local historians and community members will share ghost stories and trivia while tickets range from $35 to $50 and the event is recorded for online release. EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Washington Park High School had a record year for AP tests with 128 exams passed and 29 AP Scholars—data that set a new school record. Senior Alberto Velasco took nearly every AP class offered in his junior year and said the challenge helped him prepare for college. Racine County Eye
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Racine officials said the former YMCA at 725 Lake Avenue—fenced on April 16 and marked by vandalism and squatter occupation—was demolished this spring, and cleanup will finish this fall. City spokesperson Leslie Flynn confirmed that no plan has been set for future housing, business, or community space. Racine County Eye
