ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • A multi-vehicle crash on 16th Street in Racine left 11 people injured.  The Journal Times
  • On Sept. 3, a red Nissan swerved into oncoming traffic near 16th and Murray, hitting two SUVs and a city bus carrying high school students and injuring eleven people, and police arrested the 20-year-old driver—neighbors said many treat the road like a racetrack.  FOX6
  • Eleven people were injured when a Nissan Rogue crashed into an RYDE bus on the 2000 block of 16th Street at 3:29 p.m. on Thursday — Racine police reported a 20-year-old woman was arrested and taken to the hospital.  Racine County Eye

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development awarded $5.1 million to the Kenosha—Racine Lead-Free Communities Partnership, city officials announced Tuesday to continue lead abatement efforts. The funds will support removing lead hazards from homes and community spaces.  The Journal Times
  • Gov. Tony Evers said Wisconsin joined the U.S. Climate Alliance’s Affordable Clean Cars Coalition on Sept. 4. The group will work on plans to make cleaner cars more affordable — it will add more charging stations and support U.S. auto jobs.  CBS58
