ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • On Friday morning, a group from several organizations began digging for native plants along Lamparek Creek near the Mount Pleasant data center to restore the creek from a degraded drainage ditch into a cleaner corridor. Root-Pike WIN said the $4 million project, funded by Microsoft, will re-meander the waterway and improve water quality — work that should finish by the end of October as part of a broader Pike River Watershed restoration plan.  The Journal Times
