GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Governor Evers approved a $404,000 project to resurface and improve 0.37 miles of WIS 38 between Golf Avenue and Rapids Drive in Racine—work will begin Sept 22 and take about three weeks with a detour via WIS 31 and County C to keep access open. FOX6
- ➤ Trevor Jung, Racine’s director of transportation, announced Tuesday his run for State Senate in the redrawn 21st District to focus on affordability, jobs, and education. The new district covers parts of Racine plus Caledonia, Raymond plus sections of southern Milwaukee County, and the general election is set for November. Racine County Eye
- ➤ Traffic will slow downtown on September 18 from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m.—Festival Hall will host a special announcement with the Microsoft president, Gov. Evers, and local leaders—and drivers should plan for delays near the event. Racine County Eye
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ Union Grove's senior Quintyn Martinez rushed for 294 yards and scored two touchdowns as the Broncos rallied in the second half to beat Burlington 28-13—overcoming a 13-0 halftime deficit to start the season 4-0. Racine County Eye
