- ➤ Racine Unified School District has lowered overall expulsions in recent years, but Black students—who make up only 25% of the student body—continue to face higher rates, and officials are using evidence-based support and targeted surveys to address these disparities. Racine County Eye
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Two environmental groups are warning Racine residents about AI data centers planned for Ozaukee and Racine counties that will use so much energy and water—enough to power 4.3 million homes. Microsoft’s center in Mount Pleasant will open next year while Vantage Data Systems plans an 11-building campus in Port Washington. Racine County Eye

- ➤ The Badger Project filed a lawsuit against Wind Point PD in Racine County after the department twice refused to release records on officer Richard Von Drasek+ who resigned during an investigation and worked briefly at Burlington PD+ arguing that the refusal violates Wisconsin's open records law. - ➤ Since September 2, Racine County high school girls swimming and cross country teams have competed in several meets with Burlington, Prairie/St. Catherine’s, and Racine Lutheran posting wins and strong finishes in relays and individual races in areas including Lake Geneva and West Allis—teams are preparing for upcoming dual meets and invitational events.
