- ➤ UW-Parkside is launching six new online bachelor’s degree programs in finance, business, criminal justice, and sociology — offering accelerated courses with seven-week formats and six start dates each year for working adults. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The state Department of Workforce Development revised its unemployment proposal by removing the offset provision that would have reduced benefits for Social Security Disability Insurance recipients—following a federal ruling that the ban on jobless pay violated federal laws. Local lawmakers welcomed the change and said the offset provision was discriminatory. Racine County Eye
- ➤ In Racine, Root-Pike WIN was awarded a $20,627 grant to complete conceptual and final designs for improved canoe and kayak access at Horlick Park as part of Coastal Awareness Month—this project is one of 35 state-funded initiatives aimed at boosting public access to our waterways.
