ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • A fire damaged the laundromat on Lathrop Avenue on Sunday+ officials said lint and dust are common causes of dryer fires.  The Journal Times

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Reefpoint Marina on Racine’s waterfront has begun a $32 million project to replace docks, upgrade utilities, and add amenities—such as a high-speed fuel dock and floating party patios—to attract more boaters. The multi-year plan will boost local facilities and support a growing lakefront community.  CBS58

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • State Sen. Kelda Roys has proposed a bill that requires ticket sellers to list full prices and limits fees—aiming to stop unfair practices hurting fans. Coauthors Sen. Jamie Wall and Rep. Jill Billings plan to ban ticket bots and cap resale fees ahead of big events including Taylor Swift's album release Friday.  Racine County Eye

HEALTH NEWS

  • Since Oct. 1, as Ascension Wisconsin and UnitedHealthcare ended their contract, many Racine patients have found their doctors and clinics out-of-network—forcing them to choose between switching providers or paying extra to keep their care. With Medicare enrollment starting Oct. 15 and ACA enrollment beginning Nov. 1, some patients will move to new insurance while both groups remain open to future negotiations.  Racine County Eye

SPORTS NEWS

  • Week 7 high school football games in Racine County produced playoff implications as St. Catherine’s secured a playoff spot with a 41—13 win and Union Grove stayed undefeated with a 21—14 win over Waterford. Other matchups saw Case win its homecoming game, Racine Lutheran clinch its conference title with a 52—0 win, Elkhorn edge Burlington 29—23, Kenosha Indian Trail beat Horlick 35—10, and Kenosha Bradford shut out Park 43—0, eliminating them from playoff contention.  Racine County Eye
