BUSINESS NEWS

  • Microsoft canceled its plans for a data center in Caledonia after local residents raised concerns about environmental impacts and grid stability—company officials said they remain committed to investing in Southeast Wisconsin and will work with local leaders to find a better site.  FOX6

EDUCATION NEWS

  • The Racine Literacy Council hosted a program session at 734 Lake Ave from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.—the event shared resources for Digital Inclusion Week and informed the public about digital access opportunities.  The Journal Times
  • A Racine Unified School District administrator has received a national award for her work using data to improve teaching and learning — her leadership brings recognition to the district.  The Journal Times

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Racine County Executive Ralph Malicki presented the proposed 2026 budget Monday night that keeps property taxes at $2.55 per $1,000 while the total levy rises about 6% to $68 million for public safety, health services, and debt payments. Local residents like Bob Bagley criticized the plan for underfunding human services and infrastructure—arguing that key investments are being shortchanged.  Racine County Eye

SPORTS NEWS

  • The Case Eagles defeated the Oak Creek Knights 30–20 on October 3rd with strong offense—key plays included a 37-yard touchdown pass and two interceptions that helped secure their 4–2 record. The team will face Racine Horlick at 6:00 p.m. tomorrow.  Racine County Eye
