  • A staged reading titled 'Like an Animal in a Cage: Voices from Solitary' will take place at 7 p.m. Saturday at First Presbyterian Church, 716 College Ave, Racine. The event presents firsthand accounts from those who have experienced solitary confinement and will be followed by a talkback session — ticket proceeds will benefit the Joshua Glover Justice Fund.  Racine County Eye

  • Racine library honored hometown author Henkes today — the author and illustrator has written over 60 children’s books and is celebrated for his work with young readers.  The Journal Times

HEALTH NEWS

  • A case of HPAI H5N1 was identified in a backyard poultry flock in Racine County as officials depopulated the birds to stop the virus from spreading. State agriculture officials urged local livestock owners to follow strict biosecurity measures, such as washing hands and disinfecting equipment *to help curb infection*.  FOX6
