- ➤ Racine Neighborhood Watch received a $3,000 grant from SC Johnson to support National Night Out 2025 — an annual event that helped equip local block parties and neighborhood gatherings with planning resources and supplies. More than 4,500 residents joined law enforcement and community leaders during the 34th celebration to promote neighborhood safety. Racine County Eye
- ➤ The Holiday Train will come to Racine County on December 9 with stops in Sturtevant at 9900 East Exploration from 7 to 7:30 p.m. and in Caledonia at the 5 ½ Mile Road railway crossing from 8:15 to 8:45 p.m. The train will feature live music by American Authors and Pynk Beard—raising donations for local food banks. - ➤ Racine’s Christmas House—a restored Dutch Colonial revival home on 10th Street and Main built in 1893—is known for ghostly legends with sightings of a former mayor and nurses from the past; its hidden rooms and suspected tunnels add to its mystery. - ➤ Students, staff and parents gathered at 21st Century Preparatory on Oct. 9 to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month with art projects and a slideshow of famous Hispanic figures like Cristiano Ronaldo, Pablo Picasso+ and Selena Quintanilla. - ➤ Officials confirmed that highly pathogenic avian influenza was detected in Racine County—prompting the depopulation of birds at the site to prevent further spread. The Journal Times
- ➤ Ascension Wisconsin and UnitedHealthcare reached a multi-year agreement that restored in-network access for tens of thousands of patients, including many from Racine. The contract is effective immediately and retroactive to Oct. 1, covering claims made through Oct. 13 — ending a weeks-long dispute over care costs. Racine County Eye

- ➤ Racine County qualified four doubles teams for the WIAA Division 1 State Girls Tennis Tournament during the Kenosha Bradford sectional—Case seniors Scarlett Hay and Gabby Schmidtmann, Horlick/Park seniors Ellie Khreish and Addison Betker, and Waterford seniors Sophia Stengel and Reece Sosinski earned their spots and will play on Thursday at Nielsen Stadium in Madison.
