  • Nearly 2,000 people gathered at the busy corner of Highways 20 and 31 on October 18 for the No Kings protest (up from 1,100 last summer) while Mount Pleasant police monitored the event. Organizers said volunteers in safety vests reassured senior citizens (some of whom had faced earlier threats) and kept the protest peaceful.  Racine County Eye
  • This week in Racine, Ascension Wisconsin and UnitedHealthcare restored in-network coverage for claims from Oct. 1 to 13 when a multi-year agreement was signed—officials also confirmed a new Meijer supercenter in Mount Pleasant is set to begin construction in the next 12–18 months. A Case High School junior reimagined 'Thriller' with a project that has gained over 70,000 views on TikTok, County Executive Ralph Malicki defended the $252.3 million 2026 budget amid GOP claims, and communities across Racine have set trick-or-treat dates for Oct. 31.  Racine County Eye
