EDUCATION NEWS

  • Raymond School Board approved an RFP for a facilities feasibility study during its October 20th meeting to review building conditions and costs—this effort will guide decisions on a future referendum. GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The federal shutdown could end SNAP benefits on Oct. 31 and leave many Racine families without food help. Local agencies are working together by using TEFAP pantries and urging residents to call 211 Wisconsin — ensuring they have updated support if needed.  Racine County Eye
  • Gov. Tony Evers announced on Oct. 21 that Wisconsin's FoodShare program will run out of funds in 10 days — leaving about 700000 residents without full November benefits as the state Department of Health Services prepares to notify users by mail while food banks brace for increased demand. Food pantries have already seen about 30% more visitors compared to this time last year.  CBS58
