- ➤ GamesGiving Expo will take place Nov. 28—29 at Fountain Hall in Sturtevant where gamers, local vendors and charities will join for gaming tournaments, artisan booths and fundraisers — aiming to start a new annual tradition for Southeastern Wisconsin families. The event is hosted by Guys Games and Beer in partnership with Racine County Eye and will run from noon to 9 p.m. on Nov. 28 and from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Nov. 29. Racine County Eye

- ➤ Restoration work on Lamparek Creek is wrapping up as crews restore the creek’s natural, winding course that was lost when farmers straightened it 150 years ago — local observers note that the creek is already looking vibrant. The Journal Times

- ➤ The Village of Mount Pleasant selected Dustin Ellis as the new South Shore Fire chief after more than 15 years with the department — he served as interim chief beginning in August — and he will now lead a 69-member team serving Mount Pleasant and Sturtevant as the department faces over 6,400 calls in 2025.
