COMMUNITY NEWS

  • On Nov 10, the first session of the Struggle 2 Strength series for Racine-area men drew 44 attendees at Hotel Verdant as mentors and youth shared their experiences—building strong community ties. Sponsored by the City Department of Community Safety and Corey Prince’s Community Consulting, the program will hold its next session on Nov 22 at the Delta Marriott with a third session planned for Dec 7.  Racine County Eye
  • The Racine Family YMCA marked 150 years of service to the community by honoring its longstanding support for local families. The organization operates two locations—George Bray Neighborhood Center at 924 Center St. and the Image Management Branch at 8501 Campus Drive in Mount Pleasant.  The Journal Times

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Racine Unified School District’s overall score rose to 57.4 from 56.4 on the DPI report released November 12—its English language arts scores increased from 35.2 to 42.4 while math scores grew from 26.6 to 35.5 but remain below state averages.  Racine County Eye

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Racine drivers will face a 1.5 mile construction project on Highway 31 starting early 2026 and ending in 2027—work will occur in two phases, with the first phase covering the stretch from Durand Avenue to Margery Drive and the second from Castle Court to Washington Avenue. The project will upgrade pavement, sidewalks, medians, and traffic signals while keeping access open to businesses and homes.  Racine County Eye
