EDUCATION NEWS

  • At the November 17 Raymond School Board meeting, Brooke Adamczyk's student artists from kindergarten to middle school presented projects that used symbols, colors and objects to show their identity. The event highlighted creative expression and gave the students full control over their work.  Racine County Eye
  • School districts received only 35% of special education costs instead of the promised 42% in the state budget—state officials explained that the fixed funding pool and higher costs led to this shortfall. Education advocates warn that the gap may force more school referendums next year.  Racine County Eye

SPORTS NEWS

  • Waterford girls basketball won its season opener with a 57-40 defeat of Martin Luther on Tuesday night in Greendale—freshman twins Kayla and Alyson Brechtl and junior guard McKinley Karpinski, who scored 19 points with five 3-pointers, helped the team overcome early jitters and pull away in the second half.  Racine County Eye
