➤ Racine County Eye will host its live podcast, A Very Racine Holiday, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 18, at its office on 1926 Albert St.- The event celebrates the Christmas Coalition’s 20th anniversary and the Festival of Trees return after 10 years while featuring local traditions and trivia. GOVERNMENT NEWS

➤ A Wisconsin Senate Committee held a hearing Tuesday on a solar bill that would let private companies build small community solar projects; legislators debated its potential to lower utility costs and its effect on rights of nature proposals while some property owners expressed mixed views. ➤ Today, Racine received a $40 million grant from the state to accelerate its lead pipe replacement project and improve water safety for children. More than $21 million of the funds is forgivable & the project builds on an existing $5 million replacement schedule. Racine County Eye
