COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Racine Community Foundation awarded $531K in grants to local nonprofits that supported fall 2025 community initiatives. The funding will help boost services and projects across the county (a commitment to local development).  The Journal Times
  • Blank-fest Wisconsin returns as a three-night concert series at McAuliffe’s Pub from Dec. 12 to 14, asking guests to donate $10 or bring blankets and toiletries to support the homeless. Local bands will perform each night, continuing the event’s 30-year tradition.  CBS58

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Brittany Nicholson of Arrogant Tacos has drawn loyal locals with bold flavors and a viral social media moment — she plans to recruit help and teach others her taco-making techniques so her food truck can keep rolling when the weather improves.  Racine County Eye
  • Lee’s Deli is set to expand with Lee’s Market, a full-service grocery and deli opening May 1, 2026 at Belle City Square. The new location, in a historic Horlick malted milk factory (1926 Albert Street), will serve as a community anchor in an area with limited grocery options.  Racine County Eye

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Giannica Cuellar, an eighth grader at 21st Century Preparatory School, is featured today in Racine County Eye’s first monthly Outstanding Student Spotlight for leading the Hope Squad (a student group that supports mental health) which meets weekly to check on peers and assist teachers.  Racine County Eye

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Racine declared three downtown properties nuisance properties today to address building code violations and public safety concerns. Owners at Mahoffers on Main, Mitchell Wagon Factory Lofts, and Arcade Apartments must submit abatement plans within 10 days under the new ordinance.  Racine County Eye

HEALTH NEWS

  • Pillar Health announced that its Racine clinic will soon add two family medicine providers, one pediatric provider and one behavioral health therapist, increasing available care options for residents.  The Journal Times
