COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Fisk Johnson will match Salvation Army donations up to $50K on Saturday as S.C. Johnson workers + families volunteer as bell ringers at red kettle locations to support those in need.  The Journal Times

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Wilmot Union High School students partnered with Home Depot Racine in a safety initiative to stress preparedness—training sessions focused on practical tips for handling emergencies throughout the community.  The Journal Times
  • Raymond School 7th graders participated in a hands-on STEM unit by studying planetary atmospheres and creating pour paintings that represent each planet's gas makeup. Teachers Zoe Rodriguez and Brooke Adamczyk led the projects that board members praised for linking classroom science with everyday learning.  Racine County Eye

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The Hospitality Center is planning to move to the former YWCA building on College Avenue in 2026 but faces a zoning dispute as Mayor Mason says the site does not permit a charitable meal site, while its director and local officials argue that codes allow the center's broader services.  Racine County Eye

REAL ESTATE NEWS

  • RUSD is asking $975,000 for the Jefferson Lighthouse school building at 1722 W. 6th St. as part of its long-range facilities plan from the 2020 referendum, and redevelopments will need board and city approval — a recent poll shows nearly 28% favor affordable apartments.  Racine County Eye
