Lachrimae Antiquae y Jotas: The Spanish Consort in Concert

About this event

“The Spanish Consort”, a quartet made up of Jon Wasserman (Baroque Guitar/Voice; USA), Carlos Cano (Traverso; Cuba), Aaron López (Baroque Cello; Cuba) and Victor Gallego (Percussion; Spain). The project's purpose is to highlight the importance of Hispanic history and patrimony around the world with a focus on the revival of music that is often forgotten in the modern programming of historical music. Additionally, we aim to give light to the amazing and diverse repertoire that was performed and survived in Latin America and its influences from around the globe. Our ensemble highlights diversity even within our own group of musicians, featuring musicians from Spain, Cuba, and the United States.
