About this event
Join Marcus Corporation and Marquette University College of Business Administration for the Baum Spirit of Entrepreneurship Summit on Wednesday, November 18. The complimentary event will bring together business leaders, entrepreneurs, students, and faculty for an afternoon of bold ideas, candid conversations, and emerging business concepts. The two-part event will encourage connections and collaboration across Milwaukee’s business and academic communities while exploring ideas that can help shape the region’s economic future. Guests are welcome to register for the full event or for the portions of the program they are able to attend.
Speaker & Panel Symposium 2:00 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.
The summit will begin with time for attendees to connect, exchange ideas and explore opportunities for collaboration. Bill Aulet, professor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s Sloan School of Management and managing director of the Martin Trust Center for MIT Entrepreneurship, will deliver the keynote address. Aulet will discuss how entrepreneurial thinking can strengthen individual organizations and help shape the region’s economic future.
The speaker symposium will conclude with a dynamic panel discussion featuring local business leaders discussing the importance of entrepreneurial practices within organizations and how ideas spark change internally that extend to the broader industry and community.
3rd Annual Marquette Invitational Pitch Competition 4:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
After Milwaukee’s business community takes the stage, the spotlight will shift to the region’s rising entrepreneurs. Up to 10 eastern Wisconsin university student founders will then put their business models to the test during the 3rd Annual Marquette Invitational Pitch Competition. The competition is the culmination of a year-long series of entrepreneurial programs and competitions from area universities.
This event is designed for members of the business community, startup ecosystem leaders, university students, faculty, and community stakeholders interested in innovation, entrepreneurship, and economic growth.
Sponsored by Marcus Corporation, this symposium celebrates the legacy of late board member David Baum whose passion for entrepreneurship and innovation inspired individuals and organizations throughout his life.
