About this event

Do you have trouble relaxing? It’s understandable - today’s fast paced life makes it difficult to relax and be present in the moment. Restorative yoga is designed with gentle floor based sequences using bolsters, blankets, and props that support the practitioner to relax the muscles, slow down the mental activity of the brain, shift emotional patterns, bring ease to the breath, and tune into the nervous system's healing capacity. Restorative yoga is a slower, more restful, more passive approach to yoga that's meant to melt away muscle tension, create space in the body, and alleviate stress. Restorative yoga is less about building strength or working up a sweat than it is about deep mental and physical relaxation. Restorative yoga often incorporates helpful props—such as yoga blocks or bricks, pillows or bolsters, or a blanket or towel—that support the body in various poses. You might also use straps or bands to help hold, lengthen, or deepen specific stretches.
